Thanks to our recent expansion and a substantial increase in orders, we have been busy recruiting new members of staff. We’re looking for production and engineering personnel to work in our newly-built manufacturing area. Of course, experience would be a great advantage but we understand the old dilemma of not getting a job because you don’t have enough experience and not being able to get experience because you don’t have a job. So, I made a pledge that I would read ALL the CVs that came in and pass on some advice to those who weren’t lucky enough to be asked in for interview to help their chances of getting the next job that came along.
What did surprise me tho’ was the fact that we didn’t get one application from a recent graduate. Bearing in mind the job advertisements were circulated in the Summer, I was expecting to be inundated with recent engineering graduates. Do you know what? Not one recent graduate application came in. Does anyone know why that might be? Surely they are not all employed by now? Wouldn’t the Isle of Wight be a great place to live?
I’m intrigued. What do you think?
